Amy Wiser, MD, FAAFP, IBCLC
Dr. Amy Wiser, MD, FAAFP, IBCLC, MSCP (she/her) is an educator, mom, and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Iowa Department in Iowa City, Iowa. She completed her undergraduate studies at Penn State University and earned her medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine. After graduating from family medicine residency training in Pennsylvania, she completed her OB Fellowship through University of Washington in Spokane. Dr. Wiser started her career in rural Oregon and, prior to her current academic role, worked for an urban underserved look-a-like FQHC in Portland. These clinical experiences continue to fuel her love of full scope family medicine practice and community focus. Dr. Wiser’s clinical and research passions include LGBTQ+ care, family planning, as well as HPV and cervical cancer screening and prevention. She is the incoming Medical Director of the University of Iowa LGBTQ Clinic, a core faculty of the family medicine residency program, and holds obstetrical surgical privileges through the university. Dr Wiser is an ASCCP Board of Directors member and serves on the Executive Committee. She is the Interim Chair of the American Cancer Society National Roundtable on Cervical Cancer as well as an invited member of the American Cancer Society National HPV Roundtable.
