Dr. Jane Montealegre is an Associate Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She is a Behavioral Epidemiologist and Implementation Scientist with a research focus on the prevention and early detection of cervical and other human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated cancers to eliminate disparities in underserved and minoritized populations. Currently, she is principal investigator of the NIH-funded PRESTIS (Prospective Evaluation of Self-Testing to Increase Screening) trial that will determine if mailed, at home self-sample HPV testing kits can cost-effectively increase cervical cancer screening participation among underserved patients in safety net health systems.
